In the Bikandi family the txakoli wine tradition has been passed on from parents to children, just like so many other traditions in the Basque Country over the centuries.

The Bikandi family consist of Luis Maria Bikandi, the founder of Bikandi Txakolina, who has over fifty years' experience in the world of txakoli and Miren S. Bikandi, who is following in the footsteps of her parents.

The close links between the family and the treasures provided by their land were placed on a more professional footing in 1982 with a small vineyard and winery.

New vines were planted in 1998 and a new wine cellar was built in 2009 to meet the new needs of the winery.

In this way, in the making of our Txakoli wines, we combine the traditions of our forefathers with the latest, most modern technology.

Day after day we work the land in which we live with the help of professionals who contribute their experience to the making and care of Bikandi 50.

WORKING IN THE VINEYARD...
CARE AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Bikandi Txakolina is blessed with various hectares of its own vineyards.
Located in the valley of Duranguesado, at the foot of Mount Anboto and facing Mount Oiz.

The main vineyard encircles the winery in the Eguzkitza district of Durango.
It was planted in the year 1998 in such a way as to ensure that the vines enjoy a constant, gentle breeze all year round, so improving the harvest.

We use a number of grape varieties in the making of our wines including: Ondarrabi Zuri, Riesling, Folle Blanc, Gros Manseng, Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

MS Bikandi Txakolina was created for clients who are looking for a fresh, young Txakoli.

The characteristic freshness of MS Bikandi comes from its Ondarrabi Zuri Zerratia, Folle Blanc and Grand Mansel grapes.

Bikandi 50 txakolina was created as a tribute to Luis Maria Bikandi to mark his more than 50 years producing and making Txakoli wines.

Good grapes are needed to make good Txakoli, such as our top-quality Bikandi 50.
